Ever
thought of what in the world can you do if you were to go to India? Well it’s
about time for you to find out. I must not lie, India is filed with temples! If
you want to take a look at all the architectures of the temples or find out all
about the hundreds of gods and goddess in Hinduism or eat rich and yummy Indian
food or even shop Indian clothing then make a trip to India.
Talking
about the architectures, first I’d
like to share the first temple that I went to which was the Adi Kumbeswarar
Temple in Kumbakonam. It is one of the very ancient and historically
significant temples of south India. It is situated in the centre of the town
which is named after the presiding deity. The main deity there are Lord
Kumbeswar and Goddess Mangalambikai. The samadhi of the great sage Agasthiar is
located along the outer sanctum of the temple. It is best visited in the
mornings. The architecture of this temple is mesmerising like how can people
even do such things generations before when machines didn’t
even exist. They carved huge stones with hand and made temples with them which
is a very fascinating thing because now it’s
all done by machines. Not only this temple but almost all temples in India are
old and each of them have their own speciality design of architecture.
Gods
in Hinduism is just way way too many that even I can’t
remember each and everyone of them. In India, there is a temple for the Sun,
Moon and all the other planets. They all have their own temple. And for one god
maybe Shiva, the destroyer he will have many forms and avatar so for each and
every one there will be a temple. All of them will have their own speciality
and uniqueness. You must go to each temple and hear about it’s
history, you will be amazed. I was bored at start when i thought we were gonna
study history all over again but eventually when i started hearing from all the
elderly locals in the temple about the magic of the temple. I was astonished
and the hunger to know more came as everything was so interesting and magical.
About
the food in India, it is just heaven out there. Nothing is lacking of richness
or salt or anything at all, they were all cooked to perfection. Rice and wheat
(in bread forms) are the staple foods of India. The food of India is extremely
diverse, as ingredients, spices and cooking methods all vary from region to
region. Spicy food and sweets are popular in India. The food of India is
extremely diverse, as ingredients, spices and cooking methods all vary from
region to region. A typical Indian meal combines salty, sweet, creamy, spicy,
hot and pungent flavors. The basic menu usually comprises starch, a meat or
fish main dish, vegetables, and chutney. Traditionally, Indian flatbread or
basmati rice complements the other dishes to highlight a balanced spectrum of
flavors. Many regional specialties are enjoyed throughout India, and worldwide.
Last
but not least, shopping in India is great especially if you want to get
traditional indian attires like sarees, kurtas and etc. The best city to shop
in South India is definitely the capital city, Chennai which is in Tamil Nadu.
You can different kinds and types of clothing there. The Indian attires in
India are way cheaper than the ones found in Malaysia. Despite being cheap,
they also have great varieties in India than in Malaysia. It totally worthy to
shop there for Indian clothing than here. Even expensive items and branded
clothings are cheaper there like Levis, Marks and Spencers and etc. The most
famous mall in Chennai is Express Avenue. The cinema there is just too
cool and I would totally say that it’s
way better than the ones in Malaysia.
That’s
all that can be done in India. Yes there are more things to be done. But these
are the things i’ve done
and enjoyed so you should go give a try too. The End :)
