homemade shaved ice
Perfect for those hot days when you’re craving a cold treat.
I originally saw a version of this on youtube and thought it looked
refreshing for hot days when you want something cold and sweet. This DIY treat
requires only three ingredients and takes just minutes to prepare. When I say
minutes, I mean it. The toughest part of this recipe? Waiting for
your watermelon mixture to freeze and turn into ice. I love that it is
made with fresh fruit, so although it has a little sugar in it, you still feel
like you're eating a healthier version of a snow cone. if you want it to be extremely
healthy you should substitute sugar for honey
as it's a healthier alternative.
Since watermelon is a fruit staple in my house, it’s a nice change to
eat it in another shape other than a triangle or square. On top of that
watermelon has a lot of benefits to it Many studies have suggested that increasing consumption of fruits
like watermelon decreases the risk of obesity,
diabetes, heart
disease and
promotes a healthy complexion and hair, increased energy, overall lower weight.
Just in case
you don't like watermelon you can substitute it for either
berries, melon and many other fruits. Just follow the 6 simple steps and
you'll get the same results. With every spoonful, you taste the subtle
flavors of watermelon and lime fused together. Neither ingredient is
overpowering but a perfect match made for each other with a slight crunchiness.
I would really recommend this recipe if you want a twist rather then just
eating a regular cut watermelon.
ingredients
1.half a watermelon
2.1/3 tablespoon of sugar or 1/3 tablespoon of honey
3.half a lemon / 3 limes
Method
1.
Put watermelon in a blender or food processor and liquefy.

food processor.
3.
Add a sugar/squeeze of honey, to taste, and blend.
4.
Pour mixture into a 7x11-inch baking dish and put in
freezer overnight or until the mixture is solid.
5.
Scrape the ice with a spoon until it turns into fine
shavings.
6.
Scoop with an ice cream scoop and serve in an ice cream
sundae dish
To make it even more insta worthy you should
put the shaved ice in a cute bowl and add mint leaves on top of it. The mint
leaves helps add a refreshing flavor to your shaved ice and it also helps your
digestive system. Good luck!
